Ways of swinging a cricket ball

You must have heard of a word called swing. Meaning of this word is to move something in the air without support of anything. This particular word is also important in cricket as swinging the cricket ball is an art, once mastered can make a lots of difference in the bowling fast bowler. Today, let us learn this art of swing bowling. The swing bowling is nothing but to swing the bowl in the air even before bouncing it on the cricket pitch. The advantage of swing bowling is that it can create the trouble to the batsman as ball changes its line with the pace and it becomes very hard for the batsman to predict the line of the ball.
Basically, there are two types of swing bowling- In-winging bowling and Out-Swinging bowling. During the in-swinging bowling, ball actually delivered wide of the batsman and comes into the batsman. During the out-swinging bowling, ball actually starts towards the batsman and goes away from the batsman. There are good chances of batsman edging the ball through to keeper in the out-swing bowling and there are good chances of batsman getting bowled (stumps are broken from bowling) or getting LBW (Leg Before Wicket) in the in-swinging bowling. There is a new swing called Reverse swing is introduced in modern day cricket in which ball swings to the smooth side of the ball from rough side of the ball.
