With chances of rain later in the night, Australia cricket team’s Captain Cameroon White decided to bowl first after winning the toss of the first T20 International match of the tour in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka had a reasonable start until they lost their veteran batsman Mahela Jayewardene in the 3rd over. Taking the opportunity Sri Lankan skipper Tilakaratne Dilshan charged on Australian bowlers heavily. Thus, making a stunning maiden T20I century in just 55 balls. He ended scoring 104* runs from just 57 balls with the help of 12x4s and 5x6s. The dashing innings by Dilshan enabled Sri Lanka cricket team to put a defendable score of 199 runs to win for Australia.

Performance of Afghanistan, the newest team on the block!
Afghanistan, a new addition to cricket world played its first game in World Twenty-Twenty 2010 against India. Although Afghanistan was playing its first match but still they did not disappoint as a newly added team. India won the toss and chose to field. As Afghanistan was put to bat, they started off a bit shaky by losing 2 wickets at the score of 22. After the fall of third wicket, Noor Ali made his presence felt on the crease by playing a very imperturbable innings along with Asghar Stanikzai and made an absolutely valuable addition of 50 runs in the total. But after the dismissal of Noor Ali, none of the batsmen could produce runs and the target was restricted to 115. Indian bowler Nehra struck real hard by taking 3 important wickets that made a difference.
The total of 115 runs turned out to be pretty comfortable for Indian team. Vijay scored a comprehensive score of 48 runs while Yuvraj added a score of 23 to claim the victory with 7 wickets in hands for Indian team. Over all the Indian team proved to be very sturdy for Afghanistan.
Even though Afghanistan lost the match, their talent was appreciated by Indian team as they thought that Afghani players have a lot of potential. Let us see that in how much time the Afghanistan team grooms itself to become one of the favorite teams in the cricket world.
