He is pacified, he is unwearied, he is none other than Muhammad Hafeez who has bestowed his excellent skills to Pakistan not only with bat but also with his neat bowling. Furthermore, he has saved so many runs due to his feverish vigilance in the ground. An under-hyped cricketer with some magnificent performances has finally brought him in limelight on the ICC ODI bowlers ranking table.
In the third ODI against Bangladesh, this Pakistani spinner took three wickets at the most crucial time of the game and turned the match in favor of Pakistan. This is not the first time; he is always a handy bowler and had been supporting Pakistan’s main bowling attack for quite some time. Not only he aided Pakistan in winning the series with a clean sweep, Mohammad Hafeez also got the honor of becoming the third player to register 30 wickets and a double of 1000 runs in the cricket calendar year. Prior to him, Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka was the first player to bag this title in 1997. South African legendary cricketer Jacques Kallis is the second who has achieved this feat in 2000 and 2002. Currently Muhammad Hafeez is on the second slot on the ICC ODI bowlers ranking, following is her peer Saeed Ajmal who is holding the top position on the chart.

The Bangladeshi cricket team has enjoyed relative success in the one day format of the game. They have been involved in some of the biggest upsets in world cricket, namely the win against Pakistan at the 1999 World Cup, the win against India at the 2007 World Cup, and the win against Australia in 2005 when they were in England. A look at the scorecard of those games will tell us that they achieved such feats through partnerships during some stage in the game. The Bangladesh cricket team burst on to the cricketing scene in 2000 with a solid batting display in the first innings of the match. They scored 400 runs and it was a nice batting display consisting of the best partnerships for Bangladesh. In the second innings of the same match, they were unable to repeat the same and were bowled out for a very low score. Those two contrasting innings clearly tell us about the importance of partnerships in Test cricket. As far as the best partnerships in Tests for Bangladesh are concerned, Rajin Saleh and Habibul Bashar are at the top of the ladder where their 175 runs stand unbeaten. That record is unlikely to be broken any time soon. The best partnerships by Bangladesh cricket team in test cricket are:

Bangladeshi players are not best known for their partnerships. It is very rare to have big partnerships among Bangladeshi players. In my point of view, the rest of them are good players but they really lack the sense of building partnerships. That’s why they lose so many matches. Tamim Iqbal from Bangladesh is just an amazing opener but most of the time there is no one on the other end to help him out. If we look at the best partnership in test for Bangladesh it is 200 runs between Tamim and Junaid Siddique, which is very low in comparison to other teams.
