None can share this laurel which Australia holds, the best ODI team cricket world has ever produced. Australia was the undisputed king of ODI format during 1999 – 2007.Some of the records registered by the Kangaroos are still unbeaten as they have consecutively won 21 ODI matches during 2003; a worthwhile feat to look at.  Furthermore, three successive World Cup titles from 1999 to 2007 put them on top of the cricket world. If we look at the World Cup matches performance, Australian Cricket team won 25 matches in a row and played 34 games without a single defeat.

The killing combination of some great Australian players never allowed anyone stand in their way to success. Legendary cricketers like Glenn McGrath, Ricky Ponting, Shane Warne and Adam Gilchrist played a dominant part in winning all the three World Cup finals during the discussed period. Ricky Ponting is considered to be the most successful captain ever in the history of Cricket. Whether it’s a test match, an ODI or a T20 format, this collective performance as a captain is phenomenal.

Australians as a team set example for all the other cricketing nations as how to reinvent themselves and keep hitting the target successfully no matter whatever the situation at the game is. With the retirement of Shane Warne, Australians never sat back and found Brad Hogg as a good replacement for their team. 1. Sri lankan have been known as “The Lions” or “Islanders” in the cricketing world.
2. South Africans are called as “The Proteas”.
3. Ranatunga (1993) was the Srilankan test captain and PA de Silva (1992) was ODI skipper for the first matches against South Africa.

Cricket records: Pakistan vs West Indies (Test-ODI-T20)

The first cricket test match by the Pakistan cricket team and West Indies was played in 1956. West Indies was known as “Black Storm” in the 1990’s. There were many tough matches played between these two teams. People enjoyed watching the matches between these two countries. From 1956 until now, there have been 44 matches played between these two nations and out of these 44 matches, 15 matches were won by the Pakistan cricket team, 14 were won by West Indies cricket team, while the remaining 15 were drawn. The Pakistan cricket team is leading the West Indies cricket team in the test series. In these matches there were some records made by the Pakistan cricket team and a few of them are shown below.

• The Pakistan cricket team has a record for the highest total score against West Indies with a total score of 657 for 8 wickets in a match played at Bridgetown in 1958.
• Hanif Muhammad, a splendid batsman of the Pakistan cricket team has a record for the highest individual score against the West Indies cricket team. He made 337 in that match played at Bridgetown in 1958.
• Fazal Mehmood, a fast bowler for the Pakistan cricket team, has a record for the best bowling in a match against West Indies. He got 12 wickets for just 100 runs in a match played at Dhaka in 1959.

West Indies is a well renowned team and Pakistan has played many matches. The first One Day International Match between these two teams was played in 1975 and after that a series of good matches started between these two teams. From 1975 until now, there have been almost 114 matches played between these two teams. All the matches played between these two teams were very thrilling. Out of these 114 matches, the Pakistan cricket team won 48 matches, the West Indies cricket team won 64 matches, whereas 2 matches were tied. • The Pakistan cricket team has a record for the lowest total score against West Indies. They got all out only at 43.
• Saeed Anwar, a left handed batsman of the Pakistan cricket team, made a record for the highest individual score of 131 against West Indies in a match played at Sharjah in 1993.
• The Pakistan cricket team also has a record for the highest total against West Indies with a score of 307 runs in a match played at Perth in 2005.

West Indies cricket team was a well known team in its golden time. They were known as the champions of test cricket and one day international. The Pakistan cricket team and the West Indies cricket team are the two teams who faced each other in many different venues and grounds. The Pakistan cricket team has been playing cricket since 1952. The first ever match against Sri Lanka was played in 1982 and since then a series of matches have been played. The Sri Lankan cricket team is a famous team with good players on it. Since 1982, the Pakistan cricket team has played almost 37 matches against Sri Lanka and gave the Sri Lankan cricket team a tough fight. Out of these 37 matches, the Pakistan cricket team won 15 matches and the Sri Lankan cricket team won only 9 test matches hence the Pakistan cricket team is leading the Sri Lanka cricket team in test matches. • Imran Khan, a fast bowler for the Pakistan cricket team, has a record of the best bowling in a match. He took 14 wickets for just 116 runs in a match played against Sri Lanka at Lahore in 1982.

South African cricket team is no doubt a well known cricket team all over the world but they have played a very low number of matches against Pakistan’s cricket team, but they provide Pakistan cricket team a tough time and high targets to achieve.  The first test match played between Pakistan’s cricket team and South Africa was in 1995, and until now almost 18 test matches have been played between them. Out of these 18 matches, 3 matches were won by Pakistan’s cricket team, 7 matches were won by South Africa, and 8 matches were drawn. The number of drawn matches shows that both teams gave tough competition to each other and in these matches many records were made. A few of them are given below.

• Mushtaq Ahmed, a former Pakistani cricket player, made a record of  thebest bowling innings against South Africa. Ho got 6 wickets for just 78 runs at Durban in 1998.
• Moin Khan of Pakistan’s cricket team has a record of the most catches in a match against South Africa. He made 6 catches at Johannesburg in 1996.
• Pakistan’s cricket team also has a record of the lowest total score of 92 against South Africa in a match played at Faisalabad in 1997.

• Pakistan’s cricket team has a record of the highest score against South Africa in a match played at Nottingham. Pakistan’s cricket team made 149 runs.
• Pakistan’s cricket team has a record of the highest extras in a match against South Africa. The Pakistani cricket team gave 19 extras in that match played at Johannesburg in 2007.
• Abdul Razzaq has a record of the best bowling figures against South Africa. He took 4 wickets in 3 overs for just 16 runs in a match played at Johannesburg in 2008.
