South African cricket team is no doubt a well known cricket team all over the world but they have played a very low number of matches against Pakistan’s cricket team, but they provide Pakistan cricket team a tough time and high targets to achieve.  The first test match played between Pakistan’s cricket team and South Africa was in 1995, and until now almost 18 test matches have been played between them. Out of these 18 matches, 3 matches were won by Pakistan’s cricket team, 7 matches were won by South Africa, and 8 matches were drawn. The number of drawn matches shows that both teams gave tough competition to each other and in these matches many records were made. A few of them are given below.

Test cricket records: Pakistan cricket team versus South African cricket team

  • Mushtaq Ahmed, a former Pakistani cricket player, made a record of  thebest bowling innings against South Africa. Ho got 6 wickets for just 78 runs at Durban in 1998.
  • Moin Khan of Pakistan’s cricket team has a record of the most catches in a match against South Africa. He made 6 catches at Johannesburg in 1996.
  • Pakistan’s cricket team also has a record of the lowest total score of 92 against South Africa in a match played at Faisalabad in 1997.

Pakistan’s cricket team has been playing cricket matches since 1952. The first test match between Pakistan’s cricket team and South Africa was played in 1995. The first ODI match between these two nations was played in 1992. From 1992 until now there are almost 56 stunning matches that have been played between the Pakistani cricket team and South Africa, and out of these matches Pakistan won 18 and the South African team won 38. Clearly, the South African cricket team is leading the Pakistani cricket team. During these 56 matches many records were made, and a few of them are given below.

  • Pakistan’s cricket team has a record of highest total score of 351 runs for 4 wickets against South Africa in a match played at Durban in 2007.
  • Pakistan’s cricket team also has a record of lowest score against South Africa. Pakistan’s cricket team made 89 runs only in a match played at Chandigarh in 2006.
  • Saleem Elahi, a player on Pakistan’s cricket team, has a record of the highest individual score against South Africa in a match played at Port Elizabeth. He scored 135. This match was played in 2002.
  • Wasim Akram has a record of best bowling against South Africa. He got 5 wickets for only 16 runs in a match played at East London in 1993.

Pakistan’s cricket team has been playing matches since 1952, but as twentytwenty matches were only recently introduced, there are not so matches being played between the South African cricket team and the Pakistani cricket team. Still, both teams faced each other in almost 5 matches, and out of these 5 superb matches only 2 were won by Pakistan’s cricket team and 3 matches were won by the South African cricket team. In all these 5 matches both teams gave tough competition to each other, but in the end South Africa is leading Pakistan’s cricket team, and in these all matches there were some memorable records.   • Pakistan’s cricket team has a record of the highest score against South Africa in a match played at Nottingham. Pakistan’s cricket team made 149 runs.
  • Pakistan’s cricket team has a record of the highest extras in a match against South Africa. The Pakistani cricket team gave 19 extras in that match played at Johannesburg in 2007.
  • Abdul Razzaq has a record of the best bowling figures against South Africa. He took 4 wickets in 3 overs for just 16 runs in a match played at Johannesburg in 2008.
