Famous Pakistani cricket player Sikandar Bakht

Sikandar Bakht was born on the 25th of August, 1957 in Karachi, Sindh. He was a right arm medium fast bowler for Pakistani cricket tea,. Again, he is also among some Pakistani cricket players who had limited careers with the team but however left memories for cricket fans to cherish. He was a former professional Pakistani cricketer who appeared in 26 test matches and 27 One Day International matches during 1976 to 1989. His major teams include Pakistan, Pakistan International Airlines, Karachi, United Bank Limited, Sindh and Public Works Department. His batting average during his professional career was 6.34 in test cricket and 7.75 in One Day Internationals.  His bowling average is 36.00 in test career and 26.06 in ODI’s. His major role in the Pakistani cricket team was as a bowler. He took 33 wickets in 27 ODIs at an average of 26.06 including one four wicket haul. In test cricket,he played 26 test matches claiming 67 wickets at an average of 36 and economy rate of 2.97 including three five wickets haul and two four wicket hauls.

His test debut match was against New Zealand in Karachi from the 30th of October to the 4th of November, 1976. His first One Day International Match was also against New Zealand at Sialkot on the 30th of December, 1777. His memorable performance includes demolishing the entire Indian team for a mere 126 runs by taking 8 wickets in the second test match of Pakistan’s tour of India in the year 1979. He was also included in the Pakistani team by replacing Ehteshamuddin and in that test match he took 11 wickets for his team. The player has also participated in the events of a sports magazine television show named as Sikander Sports and the same has been aired on Express news. Moreover, he has also worked as a sports analyst with Samaa and Indus television. Sikandaer Bakht is now a regular presenter of a cricket show at PTV Sports and is very active through all the tournaments where Pakistan plays.
