Australia defeats Sri Lanka in Super Eights, 2010

Mighty Australia destroyed the Sri Lankans in Super Eight match. Australians have been receiving extra training for coming back in the game. They have been showing this trend continuously and now when they were to play Sri Lanka in Super Eight match, they did it again. Australia won the toss and chose to bat. The top order collapsed completely and at one time they were 67-5 in 12 overs. Just then their new shining star Cameron White came on to the crease and played a beautiful innings of 89 runs off 49 balls which saved Australia from an early collapse. White was accompanied by Hussey who scored a good score of 39 off 26 balls. Due to White’s master blaster innings, Australia was able to make a very reasonable target of 168 runs to defend.
When Sri Lanka came to bat, their body language was pretty much positive but things turned out to be pretty unexpected this time. Mahela Jayewardene who has scored almost 279 runs so far was caught at the score of 9 runs, which was a rare show as he contributes in almost all matches. A better play was expected from the other batsmen but things turned out to be very shaky for Sri Lanka and their batting line up completely failed. The Sri Lankan team disappointed their people by collapsing on 87 runs.
Australia seems to be in a great momentum and somehow proving to be destructive for every team. Lets us see who would be able to make it to finals as 20Twenty is a very unpredictable game and you never know what will happen next!
