It’s hard to believe that some of the greatest bowlers of all times have had special comfort at certain grounds. For that reason, these bowlers have performed exceptionally well on their favorite grounds by claiming the most number of wickets in particular cricket span of their careers. This post will discuss some of the greatest bowlers who have set records for claiming most wickets on a single ground in test, ODI and T20 cricket in particular span of their cricketing careers. Interestingly, Asian cricket players have dominated this category in all three cricket formats.

Most wickets by a bowler on a single ground in test cricket

Greatest and the leading wicket taker in both test and ODI cricket formats, Muralitharan of Sri Lanka holds the record for taking most wickets on a single ground in test cricket. In a span of 1992-2009, Muralitharan took 166 wickets at Sinhalese Sports Club Ground, Colombo. His best bowling figure in a test innings is 8/87 whereas best bowling figure in a test match is 11/110.

Most wickets by a bowler on a single ground in One Day International cricket

Greatest Pakistani bowler Wasim Akram holds the record for claiming maximum wickets on a single ground in One Day International cricket format. He took 122 wickets in a span of 1985-2002 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. His best bowling figure is 5/38 at an economy rate of 3.55.

Most wickets by a bowler on a single ground in T20 cricket

Famous Pakistani bowler Umar Gul holds the record for claiming maximum wickets on a single ground in T 20 format. He took 16 wickets in a span of 2009-2012 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. His best bowling figure is 4/8.

When bowling records are considered in cricket, usually Pakistani fast bowlers and spinners come up with some great records. Pakistan has brought a lot of successful and highly skilled bowlers to the international contests over the years.
