Men in Green of Pakistan cricket team in 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup finally brought an end to the 34 match unbeaten victory streak of Australian cricket team since 1999 ICC Cricket World Cup. Along with this, Pakistan cricket team secured the top position in Group A of 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. Australian cricket team was bowled out at the score of 176 which is the lowest total of Australia in a World Cup since 1992 Cricket World Cup.  Brett Lee of Australian cricket side took 4 wickets for 28 runs in an effort to claim the win for his team but Abdul Razzaq and Umer Akmal of Pakistan cricket guided the team to an impossible and huge win. Australian batting line up had players like Johnson and Michael Clarke but Pakistani cricket team captain Shahid Afridi tactfully used the blend of his bowling options where he held back Razzaq till the 35th over. After this over, Afridi used Abdul Razzaq who took the crucial wickets of Michael Hussey and Michael Clarke. Some of the very interesting facts of match between Pakistan and Australian cricket teams in 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup are:

1)      The 34-match winning World Cup streak of Australian cricket team came to an end. The period of this winning streak started on May 27, 1999 where Australia won 32 matches. One match had no-result while one was tied.

2)      The scoring pattern of both Australian and Pakistani cricket teams were distinct by a huge gap in this match:

a.       Australia took 13 twos, 89 singles and stuck 10 fours

b.      Pakistan cricket team took 8 twos, 59 singles and struck 21 fours.

After defeating Australian cricket team, Pakistan cricket team played West Indies cricket team in the Quarter final of 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. Quarter final of cricket world cup 2011 was another brilliant performance by Pakistan. West Indies was handed a humiliating 10 wickets defeat in the quarter final. Pakistan lost to India in the semi final of world cup 2011.
