Brett lee is the fastest among the two as his average speed was consistently faster than Shoaib. Also, Brett lee bowled more 160 kmph balls than shoaib, although Shoaib bowled the fastest at 161.3kmph. But, Akhtar is better at bowling high speed deliveries in the sub continent eg. Sharjah, Lahore etc where the pitches are very dry. Overall, I would say Lee is better than Akhtar coz, he would fight till the end even if batsmen were hitting him whereas the captain would take Akhtar off the attack if he is going for runs.

Nevertheless, both the men are great. They both played to bowl fast, they never compromised on pace. They never lost pace even at the end of their career. In 2011 World cup, they both reached 150 kmph. It’s really an honour to see them both play
