India vs West Indies Series 2011: What a draw…

It was quite a predictable one as everything was quite clear from the beginning of the fifth day of the 3rd test played at the Wankhede. Unlike any other draw which can be a real boring day for the fans of both countries but things revered. The final day of the match ended up with the scores level. It has happened second time in the history of test cricket. Only one run could have made a difference in the match but both Indians and West Indies players remained on their toes to save the match for their homelands.

The leveling of scores at a test match was first recorded in the first test between England and Zimbabwe played at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo during 1996-1997 cricket season where England required three runs off the final ball, but only 2 runs were scored resulting in a leveling of the scores.

Records in cricket are to be made and then to be broken. But leveling a score in test cricket is one of the rare things cricket fans have seen.

The first ODI between India and West Indies is scheduled on November 29, 2011. We hope for a great game ahead.

Cricket series 2011: England vs India (Test, T20 and ODI)

Dhoni’s brigade is all geared up to play against the English cricket team in July 2011 in England. Comparing both the teams’ recent performances, English cricket team is struggling with injuries however; hopes still spring by the return of their famous cricket players Stuart Board and Kevin Pietersen. Besides that, England would be relying on the top order batting line up where popular skipper Andrew Strauss will have to put in his best to ensure their success.

On the other hand, Indian cricket team’s stupendous batting side glittered with players like greatest and legendary cricket player Sachin Tendulker and big hitters like Laxman, Yuvraj and Dhoni enjoy a psychological edge over England’s batting line up. However, India’s conventional weakness against swing bowling is the key area which English cricket team will be targeting this summer.

Richardson is a renowned name in the list of former West Indian cricketers. He also served his team as a captain during his tenure as a player. He stepped into the field of cricketer in 1982 as an opener with the Leewards Island. Following his season season, he went aboard the West Indian team to tour India during the season of 1983-84. Soon after the retirement of Viv Richards from Test match, Richardson, better known as Richie was capped with the captaincy of the team. The team went out in the playing field 24 times under his captaincy out of which 11 matches were won. Richie captained for a good 4 years during which the team lost only one series that was played in 1995 against Australia.

Up till 1995, Richie played 86 Test matches and hit a score of 5,949 runs including 16 centuries. This superb West Indian player exhibited a strong profile against Australia, hitting a superb 9 centuries while the highest score was acquired in 1989 against India.
