- The Australian cricket team has been performing very well throughout the ICC World Cup history, and has been giving the Pakistani team a run for their money in every match (1999 ICC World Cup final).
- Pakistani bowlers have a good track record of bowling well against the Australian batting order, irrespective of the fact if they won the match or not. Sikander Bakht’s 3 wickets in the 1979 ICC cricket World Cup, Aaqib Javed’s (top order bowler of the Pakistani cricket team) famous hat trick in the 1992 ICC Cricket World Cup, and Wasim Akram’s 3 important wickets (the then Pakistani cricket team captain) in the 1999 ICC cricket World Cup have all contributed in the success of the Pakistani cricket team.
- Batting has been pretty inconsistent and the success has been dependant on the performance of the Pakistani cricket team batsmen.

Although the spot fixing case loomed during the recent T20 Series between New Zealand and Pakistan in New Zealand where Pakistan lost the series by 2-1, hopes still spring that the team will soon come out from troubled waters and go with their head high in World Cup.

The best batsmen in World Cup list shows some great names in cricket. These are the players who changed the perception of consistent performance among cricket fans and critics. A player like Sachin Tendulkar who scored tons in World Cup, he clearly took India to the victory stands many times in the World Cup. While Javed Miandad was the clear difference between Pakistan and England in the 1992 World Cup, he was definitely the one who took Pakistan to the victory stand in the final. Pakistan’s first ever Twenty-20 captain was Shoaib Malik. He, along with being a good captain, contributed to his batting and bowling as well. When in the mood, Pakistan is dominating and energetic.
Then came Younis Khan, who was soft and motivating and knew how to keep his cricketing side together. The second World Cup was won under his captaincy.
Shahid Afridi with the bat was devastating. The thoughts brought by his captaincy ignited the team. He brings a lot of positivity on the field, and now he has passed it on to his fellow teammates. He proves to be a good captain with the way he gels around with all the members of his team.
