Malcolm Marshall was one of the finest fast bowlers that the West Indies cricket team had in his history of Test cricket. No wonder his average of Test bowling is 20.94 which is assuredly the best for anyone having taken at least 200 or more wickets. Not just this, Marshall was recognized as a batsman of the lower-order who was not easy to dismiss, this being proved with his 10 Test fifties and first-class seven centuries.
Marshall passed away in 1999 due to cancer but is still remembered as the greatest fast bowler of the time. He first made his International debut by winning 37 wickets in all the first-class innings, an accomplishment that won him his share in the following World Cup team. The first light of prominence fell on Marshall in 1980 when he performed a strikingly competitive match in the third Test at Old Trafford. A superb season of 1982 called upon Marshall in his best form and he proved it by winning 134 wickets under 16 each and also gave his career best hit of 8-71 playing against Worcestershire.
In 1984, Marshall had emerged as the most optimum bowlers existing in the world and held his best performances for England. Through the 2nd innings, he finished with 7-53 even though he had a broken thumb that time, he single handedly batted through the game to contribute to his team’s winning profoundly. His Best Test performance in Test innings was seen in 1988 at Old Trafford with 7-22 while he sealed the series with a total of 35 wickets at 12.65.
This gem passed away at the age of 41 due to cancer while the entire world of cricket grieved over his tragic early demise.

Simon O’Donnell is a multi-talented former Australian cricketer who gave up a very promising career in the football arena to enhance his cricket playing expertise. He then continued to become an integral part of the Australian One-Day cricket team. Being in the middle-lower order, he is still recognized as a player who made some surprisingly fiery innings.
Amongst his scale of accomplishments are a half century achieved with only 18 balls in 1990 against Sri Lanka which retained the position of fastest 50 scored in ODIs for almost six years. Given the credit to O’Donnell’s fast-medium bowling, it has always benefitted Australia’s One Day victories which was evident when he won the title of ‘Australia’s most economical bowler’. Unfortunately, O’Donnell, a remarkable right-hand batsman and right-arm fast medium bowler, was diagnosed with cancer when the tournament ended, nonetheless, he returned to ODIs in the season of 1988-99. He sustained a superb strike rate of 80.96 runs per 100 balls during the ODIs which was double the rate in the test innings.
Today, Simon O’Donnell is a member of the Nine Network’s commentary team and also hosts regularly in The Cricket show. He also manages horse races by his company ‘O’Donnell Thoroughbreds International’. He is a very popular Australian Cricketer.

Bangladesh took a long time to make it to the Test cricket. They were given the Test status in 2000, and played their first Test match against India. The fast and medium paced bowlers performed pretty well on the dead tracks. The top ten bowlers for Bangladesh would definitely comprise the leading bowlers from that match.
The Bangladeshi bowlers have mostly been medium paced and spinners. They have played well under difficult conditions and against superior teams. Mike Gatting got his status as a captain pretty late in the game, but when he did, he made full use of it. He was amazing with the bat, and managed to create quite some records.
