  • The Indian and Bangladeshi cricket teams have met only once in ICC Cricket World Cup. The match was won by Bangladesh cricket team by 5 wickets in the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup.
  • Overall the two teams have played 23 ODIs; 20 were won by India cricket team, 2 by Bangladesh cricket team and 1 was abandoned.
  • Generally, Indian cricket team has dominated Bangladesh cricket team but last few years have seen rise of Bengali tigers and now the Bangladesh cricket team puts an equal fight. Recent wins over India are enough to accept the fact.
  • The two teams met in 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup’s Group-B match. The match was a disaster for India as India collapsed for 191 all out. Bangladesh cricket team easily managed to win the match by 5 wickets in the 2007 and also qualified for the next stage of 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup.
  • Moshrafe Murtaza and Abdur Razzak crippled the Indian batting by taking 4 and 3 wickets respectively in that match. Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and Saqibul Hasan scored fifties to score a big upset against Indian cricket team.
  • Bangladesh did not qualify for ICC Cricket World Cups till 1999. The two teams did not play against each other in 1999 and 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Indian cricket team met Bangladesh cricket team for the second time in the very first match of 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup on February 19th 2011 in Mirpur. Indian cricket team smashed a total of 370 runs against Bangladeshi cricket team. The Bangladesh cricket team fought really hard to achieve this grand total but crashed at the score of 283.

India will play its second match against English cricket team on February 27, 2011 whereas Bangladesh cricket team will play its second match against Ireland on February 25, 2011 in 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup.

India vs Bangladesh in 2011 World cup was a very high scoring match. India scored 375 while Bangladesh chased the huge score very well but still fell short by a 100 runs.
