The first match being played between the Pakistan cricket team and Australia cricket team was in 1956. Both the teams gave each other tough competition and because of this, most matches have been called a draw. Until now 57 test matches have been played between the Pakistan cricket team and Australian cricket team out of which Pakistan has only won 12 matches and Australia has won 28 matches, whereas 17 matches have been called a draw for both the teams. In these 57 matches, many cricket records were made and some of them are shown below.

  • The Pakistan cricket team has a record for the lowest score of the match of 53 against Australia in Adelaide in 1983.
  • Salim Malik, a fantastic player on the Pakistan cricket team, has a record for the highest individual score against Australia in 1994.
  • Sarfraz Ahmed of the Pakistan cricket team has a record for the best bowling figures against Australia. He got 9 wickets for just 86 runs in Melbourne in 1979.
  • Arif Butt of the Pakistan cricket team has a record for the best debutant bowling against Australia. He got 6 wickets for just 89 runs in Melbourne in 1964.
  • Fazal Mehmood of the Pakistan cricket team has a record for the best bowling of a match. He got 13 wickets for just 114 runs against Australia in Karachi in 1956.

The first ever one day international match between the Pakistan cricket team and Australian cricket team was played in 1975. Because Australia is a good team and it is at the number 1 spot in the ICC ranking, it has more victories than the Pakistan cricket team. Until now almost 82 crucial matches have been played between these two teams out of which almost 29 matches were won by the Pakistan cricket team, 52 matches were won by Australia, and only 1 match was a draw.   • Ijaz Ahmed, a superb player of the Pakistan cricket team has a record for the highest score of 111 against Australia in Qadafi Stadium in 1998.
  • Waqar Younis, the fastest bowler of the Pakistan cricket team, has a record for the best bowling of 6 for 59 against Australia
  • Rashid Latif, a player for the Pakistan cricket team, has a record for the most catches in a match with 4 catches in a single match against Australia in Melbourne in 2002.

The first Twenty Twenty match between the Pakistan cricket team and Australia was played in 2007. Because this tournament hasn’t been around long, only a few matches have been played by these two well renowned teams. Although there were very few matches between these two cricket teams, those matches were really tough and interesting. Until now almost 7 T20 matches have been played between these two teams. Out of these 7 interesting matches, the Pakistan cricket team won 4 matches while the Australian cricket team won 3 matches. Hence the Pakistan cricket team is leading in T20 matches.
