Popular/Best Cricket players: Australia-Mitchell Johnson

The Left arm pace bowler from Australia is a trump card for Australian cricket squad for the world cup 2015. In the recent part, Mitchell has been deadly with his bowling and have been creating a havoc for opponent teams. Mitchell Johnson has played 144 matches so far and has taken 221 wickets in ODIs. His wicket taking average is 25.72 which is impressive. Johnson has taken 4 wickets in an innings 4 times and twice he has been able to take 5 wickets in a match. He has taken 270 wickets in 61 test cricket matches. Surprisingly, Mitchell Johnson has been significant with his bat in test cricket. He has scored 1,735 runs in test cricket with 123 being his height test score. He has scored 9 test fifties and 1 test century.

Mitchell Johnson played his first ODI from Australia in 2005 against New Zealand cricket team. Since then, Johnson has been a key bowler in the Australian bowling squad. He is a fast bowler who takes advantage of the awkward angle due to his left arm bowling and his supportive bowling action.

While playing in India, Johnson has taken 28 wickets in 15 matches at a good average which ensures him to be a good addition to the Australian cricket world cup 2015 squad. Although Mitchell Johnson was a part of the 2007 cricket world cup squad for Australia, still he wasn’t able to play in any match due to the presence of great bowling line up including Lee, McGrath and Bracken.  Though his economy rate is high, still he is a good choice for ODI games due to his very fast pace and his ability to take wickets at the right time to turn the game around.
