Test matches are the charm of the game of cricket. Though the new generation resists from watching a 5 day long continuous match that usually ends in a draw but the game tests the performer’s capabilities, strength, endurance and patience level. The history of Test series between the biggest rivals in cricket, Pakistan and India, is quite amusing. It was a coincidence that Pakistan played its first ever test match after gaining the status of Test team back in 1952 with India. After that  a total of 58 matches were played in 15 test series in which India won 09 matches, Pakistan took a victory 11 times whereas 38 series went in a draw or no result.

1952-53

First test series of Pakistan, hosted by India in 16 Oct 1952 was an official start of the rivalry in test cricket ground. A total of 5 matches were played with 2 won by India, 1 by Pakistan and 2 went in a draw leading India a winning side.

1954-55

This was the first inaugural test match series of Pakistan against India played in Dacca stadium on 1 Jan 1954. All 5 matches of the series went in a draw.

1978-79

3 test match series played in Pakistan from 16 October 1978 was the first official series of Pakistan in which Cricket freaks of Pakistan watched her getting victorious.

1998-99

Hosted by India, 2 test match series was played between Pak and Ind resulted in a draw. Anil kumble became the 2nd bowler to take 10 wickets in a test match inning during this series.

2005-06

Both the teams came face to face, after winning test series from their opponents in their respective series, on 13 January 2006 in Pakistan. The 3 test series was won by Pakistan in 1-0.

2007-08

The last test series between the rivalries took place in India from 22 Nov onward. India won the series with 1-0. Cricket freaks witnessed Tendulkar becoming the 2nd highest run scorer of Test cricket in this series.
